The RAZR V3's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, anodized aluminum construction. A large 176 x 220 color display with 262,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover. The outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color display that can display pictures, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The VGA camera lens is housed above this display. Up/down buttons are placed on the left side for volume control while a voice button on the right side of the unit allows you to enter voice memos and create voice dialing profiles. Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad, which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy. A charging port and USB data cable port is placed on the bottom of the phone.

Calling Features
The RAZR V3's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. It also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. A number of ringtones come preloaded on the phone and more ringtones can be downloaded from T-Mobile's t-zones service. There's even an included application, MotoMixer, that lets you mix your own ringtones. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear while voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names.

Messaging, Internet and Tools
The RAZR V3 is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. The T-Mobile Wing has a sleek profile that measures just 17mm (0.7 inches) thick, and it weighs a svelte 6 ounces (with battery loaded). The 2.8-inch color touchscreen transreflective TFT screen automatically orients itself depending on how you hold the phone (i.e., from portrait to landscape and back again). It displays 65,000 colors and has a 320 x 240-pixel resolution. You can scroll through onscreen functions with a pen or finger, or you can use the function buttons placed on the front of the phone.

The 2-megapixel autofocus camera (with 10x digitazl zoom) on the back of the Wing captures images up to 1600 x 1200 pixels (good enough for prints up to 8 x 10 inches), and it includes a small mirror to the left of the lens that's helpful for taking self portraits. You can make such camera adjustments as white balance and exposure metering, choose from several capture modes (such as sports for fast-moving action), or set a self-timer of either 2 or 10 seconds. After an image has been captured, you can edit it right within the Wing, with functions ranging from cropping to correcting color.

Additionally, the Wing can capture video with or without audio (in MPEG-4 or H.263 format, the latter being best for sending via MMS). In addition to starting and stopping video capture at your leisure, you can also specifiy the length of a recording in terms of ime or file size. You can also play back audio and video files downloaded from the Internet or sent to you via email using the integrated Windows Media Player.

Once slid upward, the phone's easy-to-use standard keypad is revealed--which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy--as well as an abstract tattoo on the reverse side. A large 176 x 220 color display with 262,000 colors is included at the top of the slider. You won't have to constantly slide the phone open to access controls, thanks to most of the controls for the phones features and on-screen accessed via the five-way center button on the handset's upper slider.
